Tried the BHS, but they haven't come back to me

Contact the Western Equestrian Society - WES. Besides the AQHA affiliate in Britain, WES is the other main group and they deal with all western riding and all breeds, not just Quarter Horses.

when will it be on TV, and what is it? I know that the olimpics is coming up in Bejing in the summer, but when is the next one at sprue medows?

Here is the schedule for Spruce Meadows http://www.sprucemeadows.com/sport.htm

Currently major show jumping is happening in Ocala and West Palm Beach in FL and in Indio in CA.

Yeah…
My friend had horses and she and her mom used to use the shampoo they used on the horses and I guess it makes your hair grow really fast.
My aunt said the same thing I just don't kow what it's called.
Or where to get it.

Mane N' Tale

I want to post an ad somewhere but I don’t know where to. On the internet is okay. I know that sometimes people are looking for people to ride there horses because maybe their kid went to college or they have two horses and want to go on a trail ride but need a partner, I want to post an ad saying that I will ride your manageable horse for free in local area. Where would be the best place to post something like that? A job website maybe or perhaps a website like equineclicks where they have free ads for other horse stuff?

Get to know your local horse vet. See if you can volunteer your time to help them out, and let them know about your service. They are going to be great for referrals, and the horse owners will trust the vets.

Also, see if you can talk to the places that board horses and get to know them. Let them know what you are doing, and try to help them out, or at least keep in contact with them. It’s all free, and once you start getting in the loop, then people in the horse community will help you out!

Well, you see, I am moving to the country for the first time. Always lived in the suburban. No pigs, horses, chickens, goats, or cows! All I have is three cats and a dog. Anyway, my parents are going to buy me a horse and I need to be informed how to take care for it. I have always wanted a horse for a pet. Also, what do you wear while horseback riding? Any horse breed reccomendations? ANY INFO ON HORSE IS FINE. I NEED THE INFO BEFORE I KILL THE POOR HORSES! Thanks, I bet I won't kill them though. Rotfl. :D Bye!

There are TONS of books on horse care. Read one or more. There is way more to taking care of a horse than I can mention here. In fact I would suggest that you board the horse for a few months so you can ask lots of questions. If nothing else join a horse groups like Horse City. com. There you can ask tons and tons of questions.

If you don't know what to wear you need to take some riding lessons. Riding a horse is more that jumping on their back and a way you go.

Check out Cherry Hill's link. It is the first one.

and

the second link is for Horse City

What parts of dressage training would be useful to use in training and working the saddle seat show horse? For example the steps to collection, learning to wear the bit, etc. What would be useful to use to make a nice well trained saddle seat show horse (upper levels) and what would not be smart to use? How would you go about find out how to do them?

A good saddle seat horse is flexible and has a steady gait whether he is moving at the walk trot or canter. We started Saddle seat horses on the longe line with a circingle, draw reins and upper check to get them balanced.. nose/face almost vertical to ground, head up high for good balance at speed and then we worked them over calavetti poles - which were just poles spaced out on the ground so his length of stride at the trot stayed steady and even.

Remember, when they are moving out if their head and neck are not up and carried well they are immediately out of balance. You can do this on your own if you have great hands.

When ever you work them though they need to be absolutely steady at the gait. . going neither faster nor slower but absolutely moving forward in the same steady gait. If you let them put their nose out too much they will string out and also lose balance and a lot of their style.

I do not know what breed you are working but it is important to post correctly on the diagonal and also not ‘bounce’ down on the back of the saddle as it will damage their kidneys at the worst and make their backs sore at the least.

There is a lot to training any breed for saddle seat, but some breeds come over easier - American Saddlebreds and Arabians are two that do it well. Morgans are wonderful. Some thoroughbreds if they are not too low headed.

To learn how to train a Saddle seat horse you could try checking out some dressage books and books directed at saddle seat specifically. The best bet though is to find a stable with a good trainer and volunteer to clean stalls etc to get lessons if you cannot afford them or to watch him train. You can learn a lot by watching and if trainer will allow questions after then it is too cool.

Hope this gave you some ideas. Good luck!

Gary Busey or Danny Bonaduce?? Why does one scare you less than the other?

Gary Busey, but I'm bringing a helmet — and a taser.

I'm a beginner rider from Sri Lanka and still learning the basics and I've heard these terms a lot of times but do not exactly understand what each of them mean exactly with respect to the riding technique and how they are different from each other and also its similarities.

I know it might be difficult to explain with a few sentences sorry :)

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Weastern: Western is riding with a western saddel whitch is much bigger and more confy! The bridle is usually a chain bit or curve bit but there are other types. You hold the reins with one hand and very loose this is because the bit is much harsher on the horses mouth, the stirrups are much thicker and leather. The gaints are walk, jog, lope and gallop. In shows they do ropeing, pole bending, barrel raceing etc.

English: English is in a smaller more refined saddel. The bridle is usually a snaffel or other types too. You hold the reins tight and in 2 hands. This is because the bit is a lot less harsh. The sttirups are thin and metal. The gaints are walk, trot, canter, and gallop. At a trot the rider does a Posting trot. At shows people do jumping, dressage, and cross country.
Do I make sense I'm afraid that was all horse talk! Any way that's the diffrence.

I know this has been done before by Tory Watters and Alison Dolan, but I would like to know how they trained.

i dont think that is possible unless a mircale wer to be performed good luck

I have a 13 hour trip to Montana to make with 2 horses (we are moving). How long do you think I can drive before having to give them a break? Plus, where do you usually stop to do so? I have searched for websites on horse friendly rest stops and can't find any. Thank you!

I have shipped show horses all over the country. A 13 hour trip can be made in one day.

I am not sure what a "horse friendly rest stop" is. I do NOT recommend taking your horse off the trailer during the trip, unless you are going to stable overnight somewhere.

When you stop for gas offer your horse a drink of water & make sure he still has hay. Some people bring water from home, some people use whatever water comes out of the hose at the gas station.

The longest trip I have made with horses that did not include stabling overnight was 22 hours.
