I am confused about the qualifications for the ROLEX (dressage) the FEI Youth World Cup and The Olympics. What shows must you compete in, how many points must you gain, and how do you progress on? I really just need to know how to get on track to be able to compete at these competetions, like qualifications. Thanks!

contact rolex and ask for qualifications.

First of all, Rolex is not dressage, its a three day event. The dressage in rolex is much lower level than that in the actual dressage category. You don’t need to qualify for Rolex, you just sign up however your score may qualify you for higher level events. You will need sponsors and one hell of a horse to get any further. Once you have sponsors, they will help you. Also maybe contact some of the riders that compete in the competitions you’d like to compete in. Often times they will give you training in exchange for work…but be willing to work hard. By being around them, they can apprentice you…they do this with young riders all the time.

Contact the USEF, or United States Equestrian Federation, for a list of rules and regulations about this competition, as well as instructions on how to qualify to compete in it. You can reach them online at http://www.usef.org. They are the national equestrian federation of the United States, and they will have all the information you need. BTW: Dressage Queen, the Rolex watch and jewelry company DOESN’T just sponsor the 3 Day Event each spring in Kentucky- they ALSO sponsor other events and shows, including the one which the asker is talking about, and they are going to be one of the underwriters for the World Equestrian Games in a couple of years, when those come to Lexington.

To the asker: In addition to contacting the USEF, I would also go on line and contact the USDF as well, at usdf.org, since this is a dressage competition you are asking about. They can help you figure out what you need to do to qualify as well. Chances are good that you will need a sponsor or two, and yes, you will have to have a very fine, valuable, well trained horse.

    I hope this helps.
