i am new to cross country riding, what does this form mean?

http://www.storybooksporthorses.com/Downloads/SBShow%20Form-Fill%20in.pdf

tell me what the costs are, i dont own any thing, not even a horse.

THANKS!

the top is self explanatory. Next, what is your riding level? green means you have never been trained, Novice is beginner, and so on. The next part wants to know what you want and how much it cost. Are you doing the schooling day? if so do you need a vest? You can ask for help from the officials to fill out the form. Equestrian sport is very expensive. Good luck.

I need to know for my report.

I know for a fact that Quarter horses and paint horses are used A LOT for western riding, And as for a third one, Morgan maybe.

I have been riding for about 7-8 years now, and I have competed in shows locally. Are there any good barns in northern va that I could look at? Thanks

Hmm I haven’t seen alot of farms in the city so I was going to the beach until i saw like a couple of barns near Jamestown

I do an animal course at college and i can't find any other ways to exercise horses i am not every into horses. Someone please Help!
Thankyouuu
xx

You can lunge them. Lunging is when you attach a long rope, called a lunge line, and the horse walks, trots, canters and does small jumps in a circle.

You can put them on a horse walker, which is when you tie them to a metal thing an it goes round and round.

You can free lunge, which is lunging without the lunge line. It is usually done in a round pen.

I hope I helped!

She goes on about how it’s cruel to ride a horse and saying stuff like, ‘how would u like it if u had to run around all day with a person on your back who whips you, etc’

Before horses were used for riding and working the fields, they were slaughtered and eaten like other livestock. Putting horses to work has spared them from becoming food. If she thinks they would all prefer being eaten, which is what would happen to them if we quit riding them, then she gets her point. If she doesn’t think so, then you win the point. This is reality….there is no place for millions of wild horses to just run wild and free with no useful purpose….it’s the food chain or work. I’d rather work than be eaten, myself……

Im only 12 and my mom said that i could get a horse and i no how much responsiblity one is. How can i get that much money, im open for sugestens.

and wheres a place to get a good horse for a low price

pleaze help

Try to do small chores for other people. Do stuff like car washes, pet sitting. Walking dogs can be fun and great excerise! Try to use your imagination! It may be odd to make toys for dogs and sell them on a stand, but you never know. And for good horses (I have no clue where you live, of course) but here are some good ones I found on classifieds:

These are all 750.00< Just remember, no matter what you may hear you CAN find a good horse for under 1000.00! maybe not an Olympic showjumper, but you can find a good beginner horse cheap if you look hard enough.

All I know about Dressage is what I've read. I know that it started with training horses for war. I thought Dressage was about training a horse to respond to leg pressure and ultimate control over a horse. A harmony between horse and rider. Am I wrong? If I am right, why wouldn't any horse be good?
I am not thinking about training my horse. I've just seen answers to others that certain breeds like Quarter Horses aren't suited for dressage. In winning ribbons, is it that the judges prefer to judge certain breeds higher.

there's no reason for a certain breed not to do dressage. My sister's cob is very good at it, but high level dressage riders prefere tbs and warmbloods because they tend to be more responsive and also can be easier to get the correct style of movement from them.
As for it's origins a lot of dressage moves were developed due to their use as war horses, but it has become much more about having a horse who is responsive to ride and is athletic. It's not about control, it's about an equal partnership with your horse

Hi. Im a freshman in highschool and i've been involved in horses for 5 years in western riding. I own a show horse and have lots of experience in both showing and riding. My trainer has pretty much inspired me to teach riding to people. I was just wondering how i become a certified instructor? and what specific courses in highschool should i take?

I have been recomended Olds College in Albreta

thanks in advance

Try this. Very reputable. Good classes and stringent certification. Certified Horsemanship Association.

They run 20,000-100,000USD and I have had trouble identifying many sponsorships that support female atheletes in the equestrian arena. I have been fortunate to find olympic caliber trainers but need the horse to make me competitive. Any creative ideas?

Creative ideas? OK.. I typed in "sponsor an Olympic athlete " in search, and came up with ten ideas. Most creative was selling your services/needs on EBay for a month! Course, your not an Olympic athlete, which bumped that idea. At least you work for
top trainers,so win enough on their mounts and you will have no problem at all identifying the many sponsors. They will call you! Being female in a gender equal sport is no advantage, so ditch the lip gloss and prove your skills…on horseback!

Theres a small town with a bad reputation about 20 minutes from where I live, and every time I'm over that way I see these 2 horses in this tiny quarter- or half-acre pasture with barbed wire (i think) on the fence and it makes me sick. They look so skinny and scraggly, and I want to do something about it. I plan on making it a point to drive over and look just a little closer, but what is real cause to call humane society. And if the poor animals were eventually removed from the practically in-town property, would there be a way for me to take one or both horses to my barn and nurture them. Also, are there grants or funding available in helping with this. Anyone with this kind of experience, I would really appreciate some insight and help in figuring this out. I've got 2 horses of my own now, and my first horse died in january, old and skinny, so i know some horses are just skinny. I don't want to cause problems, I just want what's best for the animals. Thanks!
